Opportunity Is knocking, will you answer the door?

I was making one of my routine checks into a social networking site this morning when I stumbled across a group started for employees, and former employees of the company I worked for, for almost a decade. To put things in perspective, I was caught up in the financial meltdown that started gathering steam in late 2008 and was laid off along with  a relatively large number of fellow coworkers. I was shocked beyond words to see the number of my friends and co-workers who were now “Former Employees” of the same company. This discovery really made me start to think. It’s ironic how we are programmed to follow, without question, the direction of a boss, and we find creative ways to do whatever we are told no matter how complicated or difficult it may be. Yet when faced with a financial goal of our own we buckle under the strain? If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny!

What would you do, if starting tomorrow, circumstances in your life required you to find a way to earn an extra $10,000 per year? Would you try and impress your boss to get a promotion? Would you beg for a raise? In light of the current runaway unemployment statistics I would like to suggest you look into starting your own home business. You only have to watch the news for a few minutes to know that the entire nation, strike that, the entire world is in the grip of financial doom and gloom. It seems like almost all of the traditional companies out there are letting employees go left and right. There is now a record number of people without jobs, and incomes, as for many the reality of a winter with no money to pay the bills stares them square in the face. It’s a very grim picture out there right now.

HOWEVER: Despite the challenging economy, there is a growing number of people relatively immune to these mass layoffs and spiraling unemployment statistics. This is a group of people who didn’t have bosses in the first place, so nobody could lay them off, or fire them whatever the case may be.

They are the Network Marketers, and they are prospering in the face of the current economic mayhem.  Their ranks are beginning to swell, and you can join them.

Imagine sending the following letter to your boss one day…

I am writing to inform you that due to financial circumstances completely within my control, I can no longer justify keeping you on as my employer.

Effective immediately, please accept this letter as my formal resignation, as I will now commence a life of full-time freedom filled with activities of my choosing.

Can you imagine the look of shock and surprise on their face as your words sink in? To make this a reality, first you need to commit to it. Then you need to decide WHEN your boss gets that letter from you. If it takes you 3-5 years to be financially independent, would it be worth it? Imagine you got started 3-5 years ago…
